About Task

Task is a Group Business Object and the Group Leader for Work Unit, Approval Task, and Authorization Task.

A Task is a piece of work that is created and assigned to another CSM User or Team to help resolve or fulfill an Incident, Service Request, Problem, or Change Request (example: An Incident might require a server reboot). Tasks can also be used to successfully complete a Project or Release (example: A Project might require a new switch). The appropriate Group Member populates the Task tab in the Form Arrangement of their parent record.

Tasks can be created manually from a Record such as Incident, or created automatically through Service Catalog Templates.
