Anonymous Security Group

The Anonymous Security Group is used for Users/Customers who need to access CSM Browser and Mobile Applications without logging in.

  • The Browser and Mobile Clients use the Anonymous Security Group to read basic setup information from the system before the User technically logs in.
  • The Portal Client uses the Anonymous Security Group to define permission for Customers accessing Sites that do not require a login.

An Anonymous Security Group is required for the Browser and Mobile Clients to work. Anonymous Security Group should have limited rights. However, it should have rights to run Search Groups and Full-Text Searches. If anonymous access to RSS feeds is allowed, the Security Group should also have access to Business Objects accessible via RSS.

Use the Security Settings window (CSM Administrator>Security>Edit security settings>General page) to enable anonymous access and to tell CSM which Security Group to use for anonymous logins.

Note: The CSM Starter Database provides an OOTB Anonymous Security Group.
