Configure the Database Connection on Your iOS Device

The first time you run Cherwell Mobile, you must configure your connection and login information (you might also have to do this for some upgrades).

To configure the database connection on your iOS device:

  1. Launch Cherwell Mobile by tapping Cherwell Mobile for iOS icon on your Home screen.

The login window opens, with no connection information.

  2. Tap No Connections.

    The Connections window opens.

  3. Tap the Add button iOS Add Button to create a new connection.
  4. Provide a name for the connection (ex: CSM).
  5. Provide the URL to the Cherwell Web Service (must be a secure connection, ex: https://MyCherwellServer.com. A secure connection is assumed if https:// is not explicitly specified in the URL.). This is the server that interacts with CSM data in a manner that is streamlined for mobile access. Obtain the URL from your system administrator. See below for examples of possible server URLs.
Important: If your company uses self-signed certificates, talk to your system administrator about setting up appropriate trusts on your device.
  6. Tap Done.

You are returned to the Connections window. Your new connection is now listed.

  7. Tap the connection to select it (a check mark appears next to the connection to show that it is selected).
  8. Tap Login to return to the login screen.
  9. Provide your login credentials (username and password).

Tip: To allow CSM to automatically use this connection each time you log into CSM, set Login Automatically to ON.

  10. Tap Login.

Examples of possible server URLS:

  • MyCherwellServer (Server name)
  • 192.168.1.100 (IP address of server)
  • 192.168.1.100/TestCherwellService (Specifying a differently named Cherwell web service)
